COURTESY POSTNIG - PLEASE CONTACT CRITTER CALVERY RESCUE FOR FURTHER INO - Gracie is a beautiful Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier mix with kind eyes and a sweet heart. She was horribly and tearfully abused by her owner and other dogs around her since she was a puppy and was kept on a heavy chain with no food, water, shelter, love, protection, or family for the first 10-12 months of her life. She was rescued from this situation and brought into a loving foster home to care for her until her forever home comes along. Her name is Gracie because it truly is only by God's grace that she has remained so strong, stable, loving, affectionate, and loyal to all humans around her. Gracie is extremely simple to care for and she LOVES human affection and cuddling. She's truly a gem! We believe Gracie is about 1 & 1/2 years old. Any family that's lucky enough to foster or adopt her will fall in love with her immediately.

Due to the abuse other dogs inflicted on Gracie, she is still afraid of and does not interact well with other high energy female dogs. For that reason Gracie should be adopted into an only dog family unless she can be paired with an Alpha male or if the family has extensive experience with Bully breeds who can work with her on proper socialization.

Gracie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm free and on prevention. She has no health issues. She has gone through behavioral and socialization training in the summer of 2011. The trainer indicated that Gracie could potentially be a working dog for adopters in either law enforcement or other avenues similar to that because she learns so quickly and is so smart. With or without an adopter in the law enforcement field she is highly trainable, learns quickly, loves to cuddle, and has a strong eagerness to please any owner. Please consider making Gracie a furry family member in your home. Gracie will be adopted to an inside forever home only and as an only pet. References, vet reference and home visit are required. Gracie's adoption fee of $150 will be used to help other abused animals like her.
