"Hi, I'm Buford. I am a big sweet, serious-faced boy. I have been on my own for four years out in Greenbrier, TN. I was walking around some guy's car to see if there was any food around and to see if he would maybe let me come inside, but he didn't want me there. He had a nice man at Greenbrier Animal Control come and pick me up. Then, I got rescued! Proverbs stepped in to help me and took me to the vet and everyone was sad when they learned I have FIP, which is Feline Infectious Peritonitis. I didn't know I was sick, but before I got rescued, I felt a little "off" and wasn't very hungry. After the vet took care of me I started feeling much better, and now I can't tell anything was ever wrong! I live inside now with my foster mom and another cat. She says we both have FIP and even though we are good kitties and special kitties, we have nowhere else to go, which is why we have to live together. I don't mind him at all, but he scratches me, which makes me sad. They said he just got neutered so he might become more polite to me. Some people call me a big ol' biscuit head. My foster mom thinks that term is pretty funny and uses it all the time now, so it's okay, I'm used to it. I always roll on my back so I can get a belly rub. It's a pretty rare trait in a cat to let you pet their belly as much as I do. I am also a lap cat. I love to rest just my head on your leg too. I would make a great indoor/outdoor porch cat. I love my humans and will just look up at you thinking "please pick me up!" Nothing really bothers me other than being in a crate.I am polite and sweet and just like to cuddle. I don't play too much because I just like to relax. I need to live as an only cat or with another cat who also has FIP. I am living with two dogs right now but I am a little scared of them because they are big. I should be tested around your dog if you have one. Please, please consider adopting me and my big ol' head. I will love you so much."

Special Needs: Buford has tested positive for coronavirus. Although he is doing very well, he will need to be an only cat or live in a home with other coronavirus kitties. He will need a high quality food and a lysine supplement. Coronavirus does not affect people or dogs.
