MUST HAVES: Large Fenced Yard

Noah is near perfect!  He's a house trained, crate trained, leash trained, 25 lb, five year old beagle/boston terrier mix.  He loves other dogs and he's great with kids of all ages.  He responds very well to positive reinforcement and training.  He's so eager to please!  He's the best snuggler and will jump in your lap on command and loves to burrow under the covers with you.  He's the kind of dog that will fit perfectly with any energy level family.

COMES WITH: Dog Bed, Blanket, Leash and Halter, Water/Food Bowl, Toys, Treats and Treat Jar.

EATS 2X DAY – ½ cup each for breakfast and dinner

Our wish is that he finds a loving, dog-friendly home with kids and even another dog!

He is all dog – and he loves everyone and other non-dominant dogs! He’s great inside – he’ll lay on his bed or blanket, but his favorite place to be is with a human - under your blanket at your feet whether you’re on the sofa or in bed.  When asked if he wants to go outside, he’ll jump at the chance! Unless it’s cold or raining, in which case he’ll stay put and just look at you like you’re nuts.

Noah is a quick learner. He only wants to please and responds very well to positive reinforcement. He does not respond well to being criticized – he shuts down and wants to hide. A simple, firm “No” is all it takes with him.

When he’s needed some ‘quiet’ time or to settle down or I needed a safe place for him inside for a short time – he stayed in the laundry room on his blanket or bed and did just fine (never cried or scratched the door).  As long as he has a ‘safe’ place to lay down on a blanket or a bed, he’s fine.

He will get on the furniture but responds to “OFF”.  It’s been a hard habit to break but if he has his own spot (bed or blanket) in the living room and bedroom, that helps tremendously! While keeping him off the living room furniture is easy, I’m afraid he’ll always be a dog that loves to sleep in the bed with someone. That is where he appears to feel the safest – so I am hopeful his new family will be open to this.

He loves squirrels, playing fetch with a tennis ball (he LOVES to play fetch), monitoring the world through the fence, begging the mailman to come over and drop a treat over the fence, and barking at other dogs…

Some important things to note:

He is a Runner (CANNOT be trusted outside of a fenced yard or off a leash). If I drive over to where he’s run off to, he’ll jump right in the car.

Does not like his nails trimmed at all (recommend having this done by a Vet.

Does not like when the oven and stove are on (especially gas stove) and will start pacing, shaking and want to go outside or to his bed.

Plays really well with other dogs but will be aggressive if another dog is dominant or bones are involved.

Does not like Thunder Storms and will go to his safe place (under a blanket or in his bed).

He is obsessed with cats – I think he’s just curious and wants to play…but thankfully every cat he’s found hasn’t let him get close enough.
