Penny is a small lab mix (approx 40 lbs) that was originally left chained and then abandoned by her owners. We think strangers may have taunted her while she was tied out. Penny is very loyal and affectionate, smart and happy-go-lucky most of the time. She knows basic commands. She does well with medium to large sized dogs, but not so much with small dogs. She definitely does not do well with cats. She is completely house trained. She is ALMOST the perfect little dog. When meeting new men, she will present a low growl until she understand they are not going to hurt her and then ... she's their new BFF. She would do best in a home with parents who are dog savy, and don't have a lot of new people coming in and out. We believe with more positive exposure to new people, her insecurities about strangers may go away. She sits, shakes and lays down on command. She loves children, loves to play and loves to cuddle and sleep in bed with you. PLEASE give this little girl a chance!!
