We adopted Dabo(Fox Terrier in Feb. 2009), and Dickson(Black and Tan Coonhound in July 2010) from proverbs and dabo has been the best dog I ever had and I glad we adopted him from proverbs. I am also a volunteer and We also adopted a 12 year old Golden Retriever name Titan that we got from a lady selling golden retriever puppies and we had him sense he was a puppy and we are a foster feller and if it wasn't for Lavonne we wouldn't have Dabo and Dickson. thanks, Anna Elrod

I am so happy to be involved in fostering dogs for Proverbs! I have a permanent rescue at home named Dudley and he is so funny! He watches me all day from the window outside, he runs inside at night to sleep in his crate. He feels so safe and for him, he is very happy to just sit and watch and sleep!

Dickson loves my dad. If it wasn't for Lavonne we wouldn't have Dabo, and Dickson.

We are fostering "Nolen" and I have to let people know...if you are needing a dog that loves children and kittens along with playing all the time...this is the dog for you! He is absolutely precious! I believe God sent Nolen my way until we could find him a permanent home. We really love this big lug.

We have had our rescue for almost a year now...and we couldn't love her anymore! Her name was Hannah but is now Petty Lynn . She was one of 6 puppies and her mother was adopted as well. We would love to find her siblings and mother to compare stories and maybe have a play date at the dog park! We adopted Dexter (doberman/greyhound mix), one year ago today. Just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful work you do. He's a happy boy! He gets compliments all the time when we take him out. He loves to run and play in HIS backyard but he also loves our/his couch:) We're very glad we have him! Thank you!

We've been fostering Xena for about 4-5 weeks now. When we started fostering, I made it clear to my family that we would not be adopting any of the dogs that we fostered as we already have two of our own. And then, Xena came into our lives and into our hearts. We've decided to give Xena her forever home because she is such a special lady and we've been blessed to be a part of her life. Thank you Proverbs for doing what you do.

I'm a fairly new foster mom and I have to say I am loving this experience. It is hard because we do get attached to our foster babies, but it's such a rewarding thing to foster. I love Proverbs for what they do and who they are.

Thank you all for your work and the help you do for our furry friends!! Koby was a pug found running around on the streets in Memphis. When we adopted him we were unsure of how his eye sight was, there seemed to be cists on his eyes. We took him to the vet and they told us he would go blind but that we could slow down the blindness by having surgery. We had surgery done and the vet now says he will not go blind and that he is very healthy! We love him so much and can't imagine not having him in our family! You are all a blessing and keep up this great work!

we wanted to send along an update on maverick (royal king) and brody. they will both be a year old in february. we LOVE these guys so much!! they have been a huge joy for us. maverick LOVES all animals. if animal planet is on the tv... he whines because he wants to play with ALL of them. there is a dog park on post (ft. campbell) where we live and as soon as we ask if they want to go to the dog park... maverick is turning circles and jumping because he's so excited!! brody is definitely a people lover. he likes other animals as well but he LOVES people. he wants to please you so bad too. you can do whatever you want to him and he is so patient. they love each other so much too. they act like they came from the same litter. (they were in the same crate when we adopted them but different litters) and they both love kids too. our niece is 4 and they can't get enough of her!! :) they sleep in the bed with us at night too. they truly are our babies. and they will have a baby brother in april as my wife is pregnant with our first child!! anytime someone asks us where we got them we ALWAYS tell them about your organization. we couldn't have picked 2 better dogs for us. if we had room for more we would definitely come back. thank you so much for what you are doing to help all of the helpless animals. and thank you for giving us our babies!!

I want to thank you for finding Buddy (Bernie) he is the sweetest, dearest dog I have ever owned. I adopted him in Sept 09 at the Bellevue location. We I first got him he had been shaved because he had been found in the woods in Berns TN, full of tick,fleas and matted. He now has a beautiful beige and black coat. He is such a blessing in my life. We adopted Chewy, our lab/chow mix 4 1/2 yrs. ago. We saw him on the website, and he was perfect. He was so worth the 3 hour drive to get him. He is such a sweet baby and definitely a Mama's boy. He will be 5 yrs old in October, and I can't believe it. Every night he beats me to the bed and curls up beside my pillow. After I am settled, he puts his head on my shoulder and sleeps. We adopted Chinook on his debut day July 25th. We were told to be wary of him as he needed some special care, but apparently he has found the right family! He has not had any trouble at all fitting into the family at home, including the cat. :D Potty training was a breeze - he crate trained himself from day one. Never an accident one. We are really proud and see him more as a son than a pet...I guess that's what happens. :D I can't thank Proverbs enough for giving me the gift of love. Whoever said money can't buy happiness obviously never rescued a puppy!

I simply can not say enough good things about the work you do. We adopted our sweet girl over the summer and she has brought so much love and laughter into our home. It was so nice to be able to actually talk to the foster that our pup had been living with and get specific information about her before we brought her home. Knowing exactly what to expect from her made the transition so easy for her and for us. I'm so glad we adopted from Proverbs 12:10. We wouldn't hesitate to do it again or to recommend you to friends. My Aunt & Uncle adopted a little Cairn mix yesterday. He has already wiggled his way deep into their hearts...he slipped on the bed in the middle of rhe night and was allowed to stay between them and snuggle up to my uncle. The only proof I needed that their hearts are mending over the loss of their Spotty. God Bless you for the wonderful work you do.

I started volunteering in Feb 2006 for Proverbs 12:10 by taking in a litter of 5 puppies from the freezing cold weather. We fell in love and keep 2 of the fosters Jackson and Katy. I then got the rescue bug from Lavonne as my mentor. It's changed me as a human, I want to be the best I can for my dogs and help teach others the value of their animals!
