Precious little Bison came to Proverbs on 1/6/23. His reported DOB
is 1/1/10. Although he is 13 years old, he moves well and
is very healthy. Bison’s only issue is reported to be anxiety,
and yet he does fine with being left alone for 3-4 hours
without damage, pacing or other evidence of that. Bison IS
however a Velcro dog and wants only to be right next to
(or on) his human. He follows his foster every step. We think he would be an ideal pet for a retired person wanting a best friend.
Despite his skinny appearance, Bison eats well and
has no health issues. We think he just has small frame and a metabolism of an athlete. He weighed 14 lbs at intake and that has not changed despite free-feeding of excellent food and treats. He had a dental done on 1/24/23 so his teeth are in great shape. Bison does take anti-anxiety meds twice daily which he happily takes with cheese or peanut butter. Dr. Carrier at Cornerstone Animal Hospital has tweaked his meds twice trying to find a dose that is effective and also less expensive. These adjustments have gone well. Bison is a happy and VERY affectionate guy. He sleeps curled up next to his foster all night and is completely house broken. His only absolute requirement is never to be kenneled. He has kennel panic and came to us injured from trying to exit the kennel. No worries though; staying loose in the house has not been a problem. His foster loves him very much and we want the perfect adopter for this sensitive little guy.
