Sweet Hillary was one of our two Hurricane Gustav dogs rescued as a consequence of 2008 summer's Gulf storm. A shelter in the area needed to make room for dogs found after the storm so we took two of their dogs to make room the day before the storm. Playful Hillary has traveled far and wide - was adopted but returned as too playful for the family and their other dog at this time. She is very sweet, loving and affectionate - good with young kids and like sized dogs. She is a great dog who woulds enjoy the company of a like-sized dog about the same age (2-3y). She loves water, is well housebroken, well behaved and needs a large fenced yard and plenty of exercise. Her former owner reports: "Hillary (aka Sally) is crate trained and sleeps in it every night, and if she gets in trouble, quite often goes to her crate on her own. She is totally house trained and loves her toys, especially her large Nylabones from WalMart. She will just lay and chew on them forever. She even carries them around the house with her. She just loves to eat ice cubes too! She will catch the ice cubes when I toss them to her. When she hears the ice maker dispensing ice she will come running to the kitchen and sit and wait for her ice cube. Even in the winter she will pull out sheets of ice from frozen puddles from the creek out front and eat them!" Hillary does very well on her leash for walks. She also does well in the car. She is an inside dog with outside privileges and enjoys a dog house to use from time to time. She is trained on an invisable fence but a privacy fence is preferred.
