Janis was being fed by a kind  elderly woman after Janis showed up at her house. Unfortunately, the woman ended up in assisted living, but was so concerned about Janis she asked animal control to come trap her so she would be safe. Animal control helped out, but doesn't get the traffic needed to adopt out cats in a short amount of time. Poor Janis stayed in a cage without blankets or pillows for 7 months .

Janis seems very grateful to be in her foster's home.  She isn't so sure about being held, but she enjoys snuggling up to her foster and being loved on!  She is a big talker which is common wiith Maine Coons.
