Cotton is a brilliant and hard working pup. Nothing gets past her. She wants to be near her human whenever possible. She sleeps well in a kennel all night, but her favorite sleep spot is tucked in behind your knees while you sleep. Cotton is master of the house while your away! She has a juvenile record for chewing up a remote control when she was 2, but other than that, her record is clean. She likes toys and will play with them according to your liking. You want her to be best friends with a stuffed elephant? Just cuddle the elephant and she will too, just be sure to pick a different toy for tug of war. She plays Frisbee and fetch. She loves to play in the river, but has not yet been on a boat. She is into hiking or just laying around as long as her human is near. She responds to "get back, get out of the kitchen, sit, lay down, roll over, shake, off, come, the whistle used by Will Stoneman in the movie Iron Will ( if you want her to come quickly. Charge that skill with a treat now and then for best results.) Her guilty pleasure is getting the last nibble of your dinner ((her favorite is rotisserie chicken)she will wait patiently without begging but you might have to tell her to go lay down). She loves to ride with the window down enough to stick her head out. Cotton will absolutely not survive as an outdoor dog and she will tell you that herself! See, she has no hair on her belly and just a very light coat of hair on top. She takes her time warming up to other dogs at the dog park, but warms up pretty quickly in one on one settings. Cotton is very sensitive to fireworks and thunderstorms. She likes to be under the bed when she's hiding from them. She once predicted a thunderstorm that didn't show up until many hours later. CBD treats seem to help if you give it to her before she is already spooked. Or you can sit with her and cover her with a blanket and she'll be fine. She is very loving, high energy in short bursts, and very smart.
