Proverbs’ Hurricane Dog... Sweet Mama Madeline, heavily pregnant, spent hours swimming in her locked outdoor kennel as the waters of Hurricane Florence continued to rise for hours. Though she hoped her family would surely come and open the door so she could escape drowning, it was amazing rescuers who saved her and her unborn babies. The stress of abandonment and the hurricane brought on early labor for Mama Madeline. Only a few days after being plucked from the dark waters, transported, and nestled away safely with a Proverbs’ foster, she delivered 10 amazing, perfect little babies. She had 5 boys and 5 girls, some of whom are already adopted. For the past several weeks, she has been an amazing mom and foster. Her current foster mom says she is smart, loving and sometimes a little shy. Just recently she has started playing with toys!!!! She gets along with other dogs and cats and is learning not to counter surf! Mama Madeline is a warrior mommy, a survivor, a love and will be a loyal, loving family member to some exceptional adopter once she is spayed. What a story she has lived.
