Meet Cookie, a three year old German Shorthaired Pointer. Cookie had a rough start to life as her previous owner kept her tied up outside constantly. Last December, he posted her “free” on Facebook. Luckily for Cookie, Proverbs took her in. Upon intake, we discovered that this beautiful, active girl was severely heartworm positive and needed immediate treatment. Cookie has finished her heartworm treatment and is now cleared for adoption.
Cookie is very active during the day. She loves to play and romp around, chew Nylabones, and chase after woodland creatures (or cats). She is also very athletic and makes a great running partner. At night time, she enjoys a good snuggle on the couch and is the best little spoon anyone could ask for.
Cookie has made great progress with house manners as she learns how to be an inside dog. She has done great with pottying outside and she is crate trained. She knows “sit” and “lay down”. She would be great for someone with bird dog/hunting breed experience or someone who can continue training her to become the best girl she can be.
