Meet Bonnie, an absolute sweetheart!

I don't know all of her back story, but there are some things I suspect. I think she may have spent a lot of time alone, possibly crated, and then not treated nicely when she inevitably had an accident. I believe this because she will run and try to hide when she hears yelling or if I move quickly to pick something up she acts as if I might throw it at her. She will need a little time to adjust and continue to decompress and trust.

Overall, though, she really is a wonderful companion. She loves everyone immediately. She has spent time with children, ages 5-11, including a child on the autism spectrum, and does great. She is wonderful with two elderly family members that use assistive devices, one a walker and one a wheelchair. She is not bothered by the devices nor does she try and jump on them but does go see them for pets. She is mostly calm and just wants to be with her people, with some bursts of playful energy thrown in.

Bonnie is fine with other animals. She has minimal interest in my cats, approaching and sniffing some, mostly ignoring and never chasing. With my dogs, she respects their cues and limits. She plays with another bulldog, listens to the little cranky dog's growls and leaves her alone, and interacts well with my great dane. I believe she'd be fine with farm animals as well. I have never seen any sign of aggression in her.

Bonnie is housebroke and crate trained. She does not require crating though, she's not destructive, and will happily nap on her bed or couch, if allowed.

She does ok on leash but I seldom use. She does not wander when in yard with me (7 acres), and I don't leave dogs out unsupervised anyway.

I think Bonnie would adapt and do fine in a variety of households, but I think she would really thrive in a home where she is not left alone for several hours a day. She has had enough of that in her lifetime. I think she would be happy in a home with or without other pets, as long as she has her people.

Bonnie is going to make a great addition to someone's family. She will run up to greet you then roll over on her back for tummy rubs!
