Papillon / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male (neutered)
Colton and his 3 siblings were found in Nashville, running loose and in the street. One had already been hit and killed. Police came and required the owner to put the dogs up or surrender them to a rescue. Proverbs accepted them and within 24 hours, they were all spayed/neutered, vetted and thankfully heartworm negative. Colton came to me on Friday, 8/2/24. He was timid and shy, but within 24 hours became clingy and very affectionate. He sleeps in the kennel overnight and when I must leave the house with only a few minutes of sad whining and soft barking. He is dry in the kennel most mornings and he quickly pees and poops when taken out to the yard. He blended with my two small pups easily and quickly, and defers immediately to my bossy Chihuahua. He is not a picky eater and seems very healthy in development and movements. He is an agile jumper up into the recliner or on the bed (for naps). The only bad habit that I have discovered is that I must keep the kitchen table chairs pushed in or he will be on the table. One very nice discovery is that he does not care or join in when my two crazy dogs are barking at every passerby, dog, or leaf in front of my house. We gave him a bath in the sink and I am amazed at his silky, soft coat. He feels like a bunny! Colton is 2 years old and weighs a whopping 9 lbs. He is perfect lap-sized which is EXACTLY where he prefers to be. He will be a perfect loving family member. Due to his size, Colton needs a home with no children under the age of 10.
