Meet Brookie! If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who wants to be your girl, Brookie might be the perfect fit. This sweet, affectionate pup has been blossoming in her foster home and is now ready to find her forever family.
Brookie would do best with a younger, active family, especially one with kids, other animals, and some space to roam. She loves being with her people, and being part of the daily routine helps her feel secure and confident.
She walks beautifully on leash and tends to heel best on the left. She sits when cars approach and waits calmly until it’s safe to continue. She knows sit, shake, and spin, and is working on stay. Her door manners have improved as well and she is learning to wait and leave when asked.
Brookie is not a very vocal dog. When she needs to go outside, she doesn’t bark or whine; she will calmly pace or sit by the back door to let you know. She sleeps overnight in her crate with no problems and will snooze peacefully from about 10 PM to 6:30 AM with a Kong. Daytime crating is still a work in progress. Brookie is very bonded to her people and can become anxious when separated, so a family who is home more often and willing to continue gentle crate confidence-building will be important.
Brookie is affectionate, eager to please, and loves being close to her humans. Her clinginess likely comes from her early life and has already improved greatly with consistent love and structure. With continued patience and reassurance, she will continue to flourish.
