Meet Sadie Lou Sadie Lou is a sweet, gentle girl who has made such beautiful progress in her foster home. She has come a long way and continues to grow more confident every day. She is incredibly resilient, affectionate, and eager to please. Her foster says there is not a mean bone in her body — she is truly a gentle soul. Sadie does best in a calm, patient home where she can feel safe and settle in at her own pace. She can be shy at first, and trust is not something she gives away quickly, but with patience, consistency, and love, her beautiful personality begins to shine. Once she feels secure, she is a loving and deeply devoted companion. She is completely potty trained and already knows several commands, including sit, stay, come, inside, no, dinner, and breakfast . She has also been working on desensitization to everyday household items and has done incredibly well. Sadie is smart and continues to learn more every day. At night, Sadie sleeps comfortably in a crate in her foster’s bedroom with the door open. When her foster leaves for errands, she rests in her crate with the door closed and another dog nearby for company. She also enjoys having a secure fenced yard where she can explore, relax, and feel safe. Sadie can still be sensitive to sudden movements and seems to be a little more cautious in low light, but during the day she is much more relaxed and continues gaining confidence. She is also learning the difference between dog toys and human shoes, which is still a work in progress. In her foster home, Sadie has done very well with a family of four, including a 3-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl. She is especially gentle with the children, though when things get a little too busy or loud, she will quietly slip away and find a calmer space. She simply prefers a peaceful kind of play. Sadie Lou is looking for a loving home that will continue helping her build confidence and celebrate all the little victories along the way. Watching her open up is incredibly rewarding, and with time and love, she will make a wonderful, loyal companion.
