Border Collie / Mixed (long coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Medium
7/30/10 update from foster: he quite literally GRAVITATES TO KIDS. If there is a child - he wants to be there He is NOT bad with cats. He was playing with my cat today. He will chase while playing, however, the cat chases him too... He has never tried to hurt the cat. So far we have had NO cat issues and our one week of fostering has turned into several. I was determined NOT to get close to him or like him when my husband brought him home and he has a way of growing on you and very very quickly. He is very very eager to please and will do just about anything. One of the smarest dogs. He knows he is not allowed in the kitchen and when my own dogs let themselves in - he will come in and quickly turn and go back out and stand at the door.
He is doing great with the other three dogs in the house, learning to eat without aggression to the other dogs and even play with them. He was very scared when we got him of even going outside. He does not like loud noises such as fireworks or the snap of the camera, but no aggression other than with food toward other dogs -NOT PEOPLE. The dog food aggression has almost gone away completely.
He is loose in the house all night without accidents. Completely housetrained and crate trained during the day, although I believe he would be fine without being crated. He DOES like to have one on one attention from an owner and needs an owner who will give him a lot of TLC and lots of love and play. Loves to play tug of war, chase with the ball, etc. I, however, would not recommend he go to a house with more than one dog. If he goes to a home with dogs - Please be someone who knows how to work with dogs and train appropriately.
He loved my 1-year-old grandson! original listing: Muldoon, aka Dune, was brought to us as a stray and we were unsuccessful in locating his owner. He is in great health. Chases cats and small dogs but that's what Border Collies do as herding dogs. He's shy at first but warms up - probably confused and a little scared under the circumstances. We have brought him current on shots. He is a smart, really great dog - well behaved and quiet, knows basic commands, more than likely housebroken, pretty good on a leash and good in the car. He enjoys shaking hands and following your commands. Great at anything as long as you are involving him with you. He's a special guy - about 2 yrs. old. Fenced yard required. Muldoon needs a foster.
