Cheshire's mother, Alice was dumped at an East TN kill shelter on 03/06/10 while in active labor. She gave birth to 5 kittens that day. Iracebeth, Mirana, Cheshire, Jabberwocky, and Hatter all named for characters from Alice in Wonderland. Kill shelters will only hold onto adoptable animals, and since a nursing mother and kittens cannot be separated, they were all scheduled to be put down. We have agreed to foster the family until they are ready for adoption. Watch the kittens grow here.
