Cheshire's mother, Alice was dumped at an East TN kill shelter on 03/06/10 while in active labor. She gave birth to 5 kittens that day. Iracebeth, Mirana, Cheshire, Jabberwocky, and Hatter all named for characters from Alice in Wonderland. Kill shelters will only hold onto adoptable animals, and since a nursing mother and kittens cannot be separated, they were all scheduled to be put down. Kittens are 3.5 mos old mid June.
