Apricot poodles Peaches and Pepper were rescued in the wilderness of the Cumberland Mountains. If only dogs could talk they would have an unbelievable story of survival to share. A photo of them "before" they were treated for fleas, ticks, and heavily matted is included. They have been groomed, brought current on shots, dewormed and fattened up to some extent although Peaches still needs to gain weight. She will be spayed after she completes her heartworm treatment as she tested heartworm positive. She will be ready for her new home with Pepper in about a month or mid Sept. They MUST be adopted as a pair and kept together. They are adapting well but are still shy and somewhat untrusting as can be expected. No small children. Ideally a retired adopter who is home a lot and has a fenced yard and quiet home. Peaches is thought to be about 3 years old and Pepper may be a bit younger - possibly mother and son. Advanced applications are encouraged.
Their foster reports: THEY ARE CRATE AND HOUSE TRAINED; ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. SHE IS VERY CLINGY... HE IS VERY INDEPENDENT. THEY SLEEP TOGETHER IN A CRATE AND SHARE FOOD WELL.
