Husky / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Senior : : Large
Sam is another flood victim, being surrendered by his family when 3 generations ended up living in an apartment.
He is a super sweet Husky mix, about 8 yrs old and fully vetted.
Sam's rescue history is not all gloomy. Although he is a victim and survivor of the historic Nashville Flood, he has been loved and cared for and it's evident his former people treated him as one of the family. After being brought to Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue Sam spent the next few months in a wonderful boarding facility. Even with that against him Sam has not had one bathroom accident once he moved into a foster home. He's big, he's social, he's a big, ol' gentle teddy bear. Happy-go-lucky every day. Sam enjoys walking, playing, going for car rides, visiting the neighborhood market and is anxious to let everyone he meets know that they can just adore him! If you ask Sam to “go potty” he will. Every time. Sometimes when you ask Sam if he wants to go for a walk, he'll run to the kitchen and bring his leash back to you. And asking him if he wants to go for a ride results in further funniness – he makes a B-line for the car when we get outside! He's a good rider with or without other dogs in the car. When on his daily walks if a squirrel or other small critter happens to get Sam's attention Sam will want to chase it, so he must bark and talk to them. He has a lovely voice, not the kind that will scare you if he's sitting right beside you. Sam's spot in the house is curled up on the sofa next to you. If the cat's spot is your lap that's no problem. So now it can be said Sam is OK with cats. Sam has one flaw - but he's pretty much over it now. This poor thing had some separation issues the first time left alone in his foster home. Now that he's convinced he is not abandoned he's perfectly happy in a large crate while home alone. Sam is GREAT with children, adults, and loves to play with other dogs no matter what size. He has no health issues and is generally a young-at-heart fellow who just enjoys your company. Sam is a wonderful animal.
