Harley was found at a truck stop middle TN in December. He was skin and bones but loved by the workers and truckers who had been feeding him for 2 weeks. The waitresses there said that he was so sweet that they fed him twice daily from the buffet leftovers but he had not gained any weight.

When a trucker called to find a rescue to take him in as he was skin and bones with an an injury to his right back leg that didn't get better,  Proverbs volunteers took him in.

Harley had a thorough vet check on 1/25 and his weight was 87 lbs on a frame big enough to hold 100 to 110 lbs.  He is estimated to be  6  1/2 yrs old and appears to have some Great Pyrenees genes due to his double dew claws on his back legs.  He is black and cinnamon color.

He is heartworm negative and all his blood work is normal.  He has gotten all his vaccinations, been dewormed, his teeth cleaned and been spayed.  X-rays of his right back leg revealed he has fluid in that knee.  Fluid was drawn off the knee and sent for test and he has been placed on antibiotics and pain medi cine to treat the knee.  He uses that leg to walk and run, but normally won't bear weight on it when he is standing.

It is apparent someone invested a lot of time in this dog so it's a mystery how he wound up alone at the truck stop.  Harley is housebroken, knows some commands, walks pretty well on leash and is extremely affectionate and wants to be with people.  He has not met a stranger.  He gets along with other dogs.  
He will make a great pal for the right owner who wants a big dog.
