Shortcake is a female (spayed), Dachshund/Beagle mix, approximately 2-3 years old. She was recently pulled from a kill shelter (her time was up) where she spent several weeks under less than ideal conditions. Shortcake has recently been treated for heartworm disease, and she has responded beautifully. She is up-to-date on all of her shots. She is house-trained, crate-trained and loves to go for walks on the leash.
Shortcake is a sweet, wonderful, loving dog, who desperately wants someone she can love forever. She is very playful and she enjoys being with other dogs, but she thinks that cats are prey to be chased and caught. She will need a fenced-in yard since she likes to go outside and chase squirrels or just lay in the sun. She is happy to come in and lie at your feet or especially in front of the fireplace; however, she really likes to lie in your lap and snuggle. She is very smart and eager to please!
