With one hour to go before being PTS, the ladies finally found the dog they had been looking for. Dollie, once a loved pet was standing with her owners outside the Walmart in Columbia with her owners crying. The family had hit hard times, and they were having to move and needed to give their dog away. The two children 8 and 12 were crying as a Proverbs foster walked up asking what was wrong. The mother told her of her situation. The 8 year old boy grabbed the volunteer and said please don't let anything happen to Dollie. While the volunteer left to try to make arrangements to help, the mother and sons disappeared. When the volunteer returned, a passerby said the woman was headed to the shelter. Days of searching trying to see where to dog landed, it was finally found in a stray situation of an overcrowded shelter and was not going to make to adoption and was about to be PTS due to overcrowding. The Proverbs volunteers who had now grow to three, were relieved to finally find the dog they had been looking for. It was most important them that they could keep the promise to distraught 8 year old boy that nothing would happen to his dog. Dollie is a 8 month old Golden Retiever/Spitz mix. She is quiet and gentle and loves to ride shotgun in the car. Being fostered currently with 5 others dogs. She loves to play. Good with children/ other dogs and simply ignores cats. She is HW negative and up to date on shots. She is scheduled for her spaying. She weighs 35 lbs and stands maybe a foot off the ground. She has the cutest curly Q tail! Dollie is looking her forever home and a new family to love for the rest of her life. Please consider Dollie for your new lifelong friend. She deserves a wonderful life.
