Lewis smiles and smiles, and he has a lot to smile about, and he knows it. He almost didn't make it out of a high kill shelter in Middle Tennessee. All dogs had been adopted, and it was down to the wire with just Lewis left behind and his time was up. The Proverbs volunteers had heard that there was one dog left, and we went down to meet him.
Frail and thin, he was in bad shape it was obvious he had been on his own a while and starved. But through all of his frailties, this wonderful kindness showed in his eyes. He loved on us as if he knew we were there to save him, and we were.
Although his body is still on the mend and is trying to gain weight, his spirit bounced fully back after just a few days of love and some good food. Happy and loving are the best adjectives to describe Lewis.
Running is his favorite thing to do! He had been referred to looking like a reindeer!!
He is fully vetted, neutered and HW negative. Lewis is perfect for an active family who loves the great outdoors. Daily jogs would be his biggest wish! Lewis also loves other dogs and playing with them!!
We saved Lewis but he actually saved us, stressing that a dog loves never fades even if his body does. We love Lewis and now that he is better, we are looking for him an incredible family to call his own.
