Meet Dillinger!!  I showed up on my foster mom’s front porch in the middle of the night, terrified, dirty and not feeling very good either. It turned out that on top of not having a home, I also had flees and worms too, yuck! My luck has gotten much better since Proverbs took me in though.  They took me to the vet and got me all fixed up so I’m feeling great these days!

I’ve been living with my foster mom for a while now, and she is always saying how super sweet and smart I am! I’ve learned all kinds of things since I’ve been with her. I have good house manners, I know to stay off of the furniture and, with a little reminder, I sit back away from the door when people are going in and out. My foster mom has been using a clicker to teach me how to sit, lay down, come and stay. I’m getting really good at that stuff! I’m housebroken too, but sometimes (not very often) I do have little ‘dribbely’ accidents if it’s been a long time since I’ve been out, or I if get really excited (like when someone new comes over). My mom takes me out a lot when she’s home, so that helps. Plus she reminds me that I’m still just a puppy and I’ll most likely out-grow the ‘dribbely stage’ soon.

At night I sleep in a crate, and I’m a really good boy about it. As long as I know you’re nearby I’m very quiet in the crate and very patient about being let out in the morning. Sometimes during the day my foster mom has to go out and I have to stay home. During those times she puts me into my crate again, that way I don’t get tempted to chew up things I shouldn't.  So I guess you could say that having a nice big wire crate is pretty important for me and helps me behave my best.

My favorite things in this world are people and other dogs! I LOVE kids, I’m living with a couple of kids now and they are just my favorite people. I’m always playing with them and following them around. Occasionally though, when we’re playing I do forget how big I am, so just to be safe my foster mom doesn't let me play with the really little ones. About once a week I get to go to doggie daycare at The Farm at Natchez Trace where I play with tons of other dogs! I just LOVE other dogs! The people at the Farm are always saying what a good boy I am too and how I am one of the most well behaved dogs there!

My other favorite activities are chewing bones and tough toys. I love my kong and rope toy the best! Good long walks and riding in cars are super fun too! I don’t particularly like baths or water but other than that not much phases me.  Mostly I just need lots of exercise and a strong, consistent leader so that I know my boundaries and that I don’t need to try to be alpha. When I have those things I am just the best boy ever! Plus, I’m SO cute! Look how cute I am! Seriously, just look at me, I’m adorable! Won’t you please make your home, my forever home too???
