Meet Fiona Grace!! She is the poor little girl with the prolapsed uterus. She looks so sad. Can you imagine wandering around homeless, cold, hungry and obviously recently having had pups, and just looking for a place to rest your weary head where you wont be "shoo'ed" away.
update from foster 1/13/15: She LOVES being part of a home. She gathers the pillows and cat beds to lay on. She gets along with dogs and cats. We are working on potty training. She has sought out and used the pee pad on hardwood floor. She seems like she will master potty training as we overcome some other obstacles, like leash training. She can easily slip out of a harness, and is skiddish with the leash. Without a fence this girl would likely run off and a GEM would be lost. She had my heart in 10 minutes, and she will have yours too. She's very loving and precious. She sleeps in the crate at night. She will whimper for a few minutes then she is fine until the morning. (We are crating her as part of her training, and NOT as a long term plan. She seems prone to separation anxiety. Since she already likes her cage that's a huge advantage. I'm trying to continue building on that as being a place she feels safe and wants to go to.) She has tried to chew on things in the house but is easily directed to her toys and even seeks them out. She is still recovering from her surgery, but seems to have a mellow disposition.
