It is hard to imagine how such a precious dog ends up on death row, alone and abandoned at a shelter to die. But Basil was one of them. Thankfully a Proverbs volunteer saved him at the last minute, and we are so thankful they did. This boy Absolutely loves everyone he meets....Basil is a terrier mix weighing 30 lbs. We've never met a better leash walker.... Also excellent running buddy! Good with kids. Not a big barker and gets along great with other dogs. Likes being active but is also fine sitting on the couch with his people.
**Update from Foster***
Basil continues to blossom in his foster home! He's mastered basic commands of sit, stay, no jumps and off (he was a counter surfer upon arrival so this was important). He's also learned to be gentle when taking a treat from your hand - something he was not used to - and he is totally housebroken. He has learned all these things in about 3-4 weeks.This guy loves people and wants to meet everyone he comes in contact with, young, old, man, woman, kid, whoever! He would do well in a home with another playful dog, as his foster brother is older, bigger and lazier than Basil would like. But he still tries to get him to play and run every day!
