This is Pete....Proverbs received a call from a concerned neighbor that this sweet dog had been caged his whole life with food only thrown at him by his owners. We saw his sweet face and went to work on helping this sweet man.
He has been at a loving foster home getting healthy. Now that all vetting is completed, this big guy is ready for an exceptional home. Pete is an energetic older guy who loves to play with soft toys and his foster siblings. He is house trained and quite vocal when he wants to go outside or play. He knows how to sit and fetch, and we are working on drop it. We try to make sure that he gets one or two walks a day and as long as he does he's content to nap in a beanbag chair that he has adopted and chill out with the kids. He loves sitting with them at storytime and tries to get tucked in with them at night. He is very patient and gentle with them. He likes to investigate, but is otherwise very gentle leash walker. We are working on teaching some boundaries (food on counters is not safe, and he likes to jump into the tub after bath toys), but he is very receptive for an older fellow!
