Meet sweet Boo Radley!! Although he is perfect now, when we found him, he was emaciated and undernourished. Many saw his rescue from a rural shelter in Middle TN on the evening news. His vocal chords were traumatized and are now paralyzed. All at the hands of someone who was supposed to protect him. Because of that, Boo Radley will never be able to bark normally. He has bark sounds, but they become very raspy after 3 or four barks. But no need for him to bark...we can tell by his eyes he loves us!!
Boo gets along with other dogs very well and loves to play. He is house trained, he has learned settle, sit, stay, and lay down. When I put him at stay, he stays there for at least 45 minutes. He's not a fan of toys, I'm not sure he's ever had toys before and isn't sure what to do with them!!! He's very affectionate and so very eager to please.... An amazingly sweet and gentle baby.

The shelter he came from abused him by strangling him by a shelter employee. His left ear was sliced but has healed nicely. He has a few scars on his body from being sliced and from the acid burns from the cleaners that they clean the kennels with. This horrible situation there leaves the dogs in the kennels during the acid wash. Hopefully because of the news attention on this baby, no other dogs will have to go through this...and that makes Boo Radley a hero dog!! And boy is he!!
Although personality wise you can't tell he's ever been mistreated, his breath sounds are noticeable at times and it should be monitored.
He has been neutered, he is up to date on his vaccinations, he's had a dental done, and he is on heartworm prevention.
We are looking for an exceptional...no, strike that...we want a "beyond" exceptional home for this little guy. We want to make his life exceptional from this point on....because he is an underdog to wonder dog.
