Chihuahua / Mixed : : Female (spayed) : : Senior : : Small
She was owned by an elderly man who has moved to assisted living. She nipped the elbow of a woman in a crowded elevator as he was taking her downstairs to go outside. The facility told him he had to get rid of her or they would evict him. He has no family so he had to give her up. He has had her since she was 12 weeks old so this has been a big adjustment for both of them.
She was quite fearful and nipping at me on her arrival at my home. I kept her separated from my pets for several days but allowed them to see and sniff each other via a baby gate.
Once she joined the group there was no problem. My pets and fosters range from 8-100lb. She now allows me to pet her.
She uses a pee pad but she also goes outside for walks around the yard with my pets.
She cannot go to a home with children.
She sleeps on a dog bed or a blanket that came from her original home.
She has a cough due to mild heart failure. She gets a low dose of Lasix twice daily for that. She also may have mild renal failure beginning.
She weighed 12.9lb. at her vet check so she needs to lose about 3lb. That will help her heart lungs and kidneys.
She truly deserves a kind, quiet home for her retirement years. More about Little BitGood with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
